Al Higgins is a photographer based in Dublin, Ireland.
Born in Cork, Al was raised in Mitchelstown before moving to Waterford, where he learned how to develop film working in a photo finish suite at a greyhound racing track. He went on to study fine art photography at NCAD, Dublin in 2005, graduating in 2009.
Al now works a wide variety of assignments and commissions. He thoroughly enjoys photographing people, food and drink (along with the culture behind eating and drinking), travel assignments and still life. His work has brought him around the world, and he frequently works in the US and mainland Europe. His photographs have appeared in the New York Times, Condé Nast Traveler, Vogue, Architectural Digest, Food & Wine, The Sunday Times, among many others.
